Denver’s top Image Consultant talks to Angie Austin from Channel 2 News about finding the perfect fitting jeans. Different body types call for different styles and types of jean. From pocket placement to washes, Keri covers all you need to know to find a fabulous fitting pair of jeans.
An Image Consultant’s view on nail salons. As I left the nail salon yesterday I started to consider the many options we have to getting our nails done. We can go to a “Spa”, a place with a sign that says “Nails” owned by several beautiful asian women or lately there are what I call “Nail Bars”. With so many options, let me help you navigate through it.
1. The “Spa” an average women usually leaves this for a special occassion or a gift certificate for their best girlfriend. It’s a luxurous treatment that we all love but don’t necessarily want to splurge on twice a month.
2. Asian nail salons – up until the recent past this was a fabulous option for women on the go who don’t want to spend a fortune but want to have their nails look great. These salons are everywhere you are, you don’t need an appointment and are mostly the same price $40 for a mani/pedi. If you find a good one, stick with it as some smell of acrylic chemicals and some don’t do a great job. (I’m not saying acrylic nails are bad).
3. Nail Bars – This is a fun new alternative to the Spa nail treatment and Asian nail places. They are popping up everywhere and are a lot of fun. They are usually owned by American women and have a similar feel to a funky boutique. One difference is instead of getting your manicure at individual stations, you sit at a long bar or table. Some of these places serve fun drinks and have cool stuff to buy. They also have different services. An express service is similar in price to an Asian nail salon but without the massage and great lotions. If you splurge and go for the “spa treatment” it will wind up costing you almost as much as a luxurous spa.
My choice: the Asian Nail Salon still wins out as it’s quick, a great value for the money and I can relax. Although, the Nail Bars are starting to win me over when I want to have a little fun while getting a mani/pedi.

The long wait is over for many fashionistas in Denver. It resembled something like the opening of Sex in the City with all the buzz about it. As an Image Consultant, I must know what’s happening and where. Given that, of course yesterday I could be found at the new Nordstrom Rack on Colorado Blvd. It was a really great experience as they pulled out the stops and yes, the amazing customer service they are known for. I ran into several managers of other stores, the best sales associates, etc. Don’t expect to find this amount of service ongoingly.
Deals to be had. Given everyone is always looking for a deal this day was no different. Here is what I noticed about this Rack as opposed to any other, there was a major focus on jeans. Joe’s, 7’s, Worn, Jag, Not Your Daughters, etc. If you like jeans and want a great price, this is the place to come. Nordstrom is also known for their shoes however I was unimpressed. They have a lot of comfort style shoes or stilettos but not a lot in between. I know your opinion may differ as I saw a woman leaving with 8 pairs. As an Image Consultant I’m always looking for the best selection at the best price and I didn’t find it in the shoe department.
If you are looking for workout wear, casual tops, designers like Trina Turk or Komarov (just to name a very few) you will love the selection!
Make sure you check out the fabulous dress selection!!
For men, the selection was great with everything you would expect and more with names like Hugo Boss, 7 diamond and many more.

Ladies, I cannot speak about this enough. What you have underneath your clothes is equally as important as what you wear. Don’t ruin an amazing outfit by having panty lines or wearing the wrong bra.
Did you know that the majority of women don’t wear the right size bra? Please go to your local bra fitting store (I recommend Nordstrom or a bra boutique) and get fitted. You may even look thinner!
For panty lines, try wearing a thong (I prefer Hanky Panky) or boy shorts (Commando) or Spanx (Spanx – a great invention!!)
Whatever you do, trust this Image Consultant and look your best by checking out your undergarments.
