How to Make Your Legs Look Longer

It’s all too common now that women are wearing up to 6 inch stilettos to lengthen their legs and sometimes towering over the men.   However, those high heels can cause excruciating foot and back pain.  We’re here to tell you that you don’t need to go to through those extreme measures to get those longer looking stems that you’ve been wanting. We suggest trying our 3 tips below.

1.  Flare or trouser leg pants – Tapered or skinny jeans stop towards your ankle which becomes a main focal point of your legs causing them to appear shorter.  In contrast, flare or trouser leg jeans are wider at the bottom and almost graze the floor.  This not only makes your body appear more proportionate, but they also cover a few more inches of your leg – allowing for a lengthier look.

2.  Nude shoes –  Colorful or dark shoes draw more attention to your feet, which cuts off your legs towards your ankles.  Nude shoes blend into your skin, which draws less attention downward, making your legs look like they go on for days.  (Speaking of shoes, stay away from ankle straps.  They cut you off as well).

3.  Exposed legs - Possibly the easiest way is to show a little skin.  Wear a skirt, dress, or shorts that come at least a little above your knee.  And if your legs are still a bit pasty, smooth a little self tanner on like Jergen’s self tanner for glowing leaner and longer looking legs.

Handbag Essentials

Has your handbag ever been compared to Mary Poppins travel bag?  Well maybe you can’t fit a whole lamp inside, but the amount of items you carry around is pretty darn close.  What once used to be lipgloss, breath mints, wallet, phone, and keys is now three lip glosses, two lipsticks, one lip liner, two eye liners, powder, a compact, nail polish, two packs of gum, two breath mint containers, a handful of hair ties, sunglasses, a pair of comfy shoes, a bottle of water, extra jewelry, wallet, phone, keys and the list goes on and on.  Dipping your hands inside your purse to find something can almost seem unbearable.  It sounds like it’s about time to pair down and get back to the basics.  Besides your wallet, keys, and phone, we’ve created a list of our top 7 essentials to keep in your bag.  Not only will they make your life simpler, but a whole lot lighter.

1.  Lip gloss or lipstick – only one or two shades

2.  Breath mints – you never know who you’re going to come in contact with

3.  Shout wipes – in case you have a spill

4.  Travel size perfume – one of those freebie mini tubes will do the trick

5.  Nail file - no need for jagged edges

6.  Compact – keep the skin looking fresh

7.  Comb – untangle those knots and ratty hair

How to Get Out of a Summer Slump

It’s the middle of summer.  The temperature is pushing 100 degrees.  And we don’t have a holiday to look forward to until the beginning of September.  For some, all these factors can play a huge role in our mood, bringing us down and even into a summer slump.  If this sounds like you, we suggest you read on.  We created 7 top ways to dig yourself out of that rut and recharged.

1.  Spray tan – Add a little color to your skin and you’ll be glowing from the inside out.

2.  Makeup refresher – If you are still wearing the same ole colors, now could be the time to change it up.  Try out a new lipstick (like raspberry), bronzer, or even a navy mascara.  You’ll be surprised at what a little switch in your makeup regime will do for your mood.

3.  Juice cleanse –  Maybe you’re feeling bloated because you’ve been throwing back way too many cocktails at your favorite neighborhood patio or maybe you’re feeling sluggish from all the desserts you’ve indulged in.  Well then a juice cleanse could be your perfect pick me up. In just three to five days, you’ll be saying goodbye to your balloon belly and tiredness and hello to flat abs and energy.

4.   New hairstyle – If you have been tossing up your hair in a pony tail or a bun more than normal, then it could be time to give yourself a new dew.  And if laziness is your main reason, ask the hairstylist to give you a cut that is quick and easy to maintain.  This should inspire you to style your hair every day.

5.  Teeth whitening – With new pearly whites, you’ll be wanting to flash that smile all across town.  And it’s proven that the more you smile the happier you become.

6.  Different workout regime – If you’re getting bored going to the gym, it’s that time to change up your workout routine.  Take a new fitness class, mix up machines and weights, or take your workout to the great outdoors.

7.  Throw a party – Maybe all you need is good friends and good times.
